Welcome to Keene Vision.

Individually Qualified to Care for You

We are licensed opticians. We craft eyewear that is tailored to your specific prescription, facial anatomy, and style preferences. We take the time to understand your unique needs in order to recommend the best solutions, and ensure you are able to make an informed decision about your eyewear purchase. Here, there is no one-size-fits-all approach and you'll find our skill is outstanding in our field.

We make it right the first time to give you the best optical experience, because we value your time and your respect. Our eye for detail means only the best quality products leave our office; if we wouldn't wear it ourselves, we don't expect you to, either. It's only fair. We stand behind our work and your satisfaction is our priority.

We truly care for ALL patients. We are a local family, which means we are a part of your community. We treat our patients and their families with the utmost dignity and respect, and simply ask that you do the same for us in return. We do not discriminate on the basis of age, race, ethnicity, language, disability, or any other factors. If you require an accommodation please let us know and we will do our best to fulfill your request; we can even schedule visits to travel to assisted living facilities or your home if needed.

We are honored you choose to do business with us and look forward to seeing you soon!

Meet The Team

Our Story

Keene Vision started many years before becoming the business we now know. Mitchell and Kari grew up together in Rock Hill, SC as childhood friends through a local church youth group. Mitchell's sister became close friends with Kari and many days and overnight stays were spent together throughout the girls' teenage years. The friendship was lost when Mitchell would eventually move across the United States to New Mexico to live with another sibling and Kari attended college in Florida for a few years. The sister became engaged to marry and sneakily paired the two together when Kari needed a car ride to the venue a few hours away. They reconnected as friends until the wedding date drew near, and Mitchell offered to officially date Kari; they talked long distance for six months, getting to know each other across time zones. Mitchell proposed on Kari's 21st birthday when she came out to visit with his family who was still living in Rock Hill. Two months later, she flew out to New Mexico with a suitcase, duffel bag, and $400 to her name; two weeks after that, they went to the court house and got married. Still two weeks later, Kari started working at the local Walmart Vision Center as a part time associate. Who knew that would be the start to something so important to their lives?

The Keenes moved back to South Carolina to be near both their families as they planned to grow their own. Once they returned to Rock Hill, they bought a house and a little plot of land right down the street from the in-laws. A year later they said hello to a beautiful baby boy, and then a wonderful daughter followed two years later. They are blessed to be expecting a third baby this year in 2026. The couple has been married for over 15 years now, and their home partnership and compatibility proves to the strength of their relationship. Both Mitchell and Kari love to learn, especially about science. Opticianry is a common special interest, as it deals primarily with physics and is a form of medical jewelry and self-expression. Being unsatisfied with corporate settings and limitations, the two have decided to branch out as an independently owned and operated optical dispensary. Keene Vision is truly a modern "mom n' pop shop" born out of the passion of a couple with singular ambition.
